Green Homework Folder
Your child will bring home a green take-home folder each day. The folder provides an easy and predictable way for you to be sure you have received important school notices including homework and classroom news. Homework is a way for children to form explicit connections between school and home. It is used to provide short additional practice and communicate with parents the kind of learning that is taking place in school. It is very important to look over your child’s work and use that teachable time to review and discuss what your child has done. Please look at the folder each evening and return it the following day. Completed work and notices should be taken out of the folder and left at home. Although teachers do not provide differentiated homework, your child has access to educational apps and learning websites on their school iPads if they have interest in continuing their learning at home even more.
As stated in the parent handbook, parents are discouraged from taking their children out of school for extended vacations. Teachers do not provide homework ahead of time, but will save missed work so that your child can make up the work upon return.
